Pizza Pizza

Yeah, I look tired....playing with kids for more than 3hours plus socializing with all those parents make me sooooooooooo tired. (*CHU* my cute tonton)

Yeah, it is a late post, but I still want to post it. We had a great party at Chinese School last Sunday. We was heading to Walmart for some personal items but end up buying pizza ingredients :P

So our Pizza night starts! Mr. Hill like his with lots of meat...and I like lots of vegetables....and we end up having a big pizza with lots of everything hehe

This time we have mozzarella cheese and provolone cheese instead of the 4 cheeses that Mr. Hill always get. It turns out my choice is good, because the end product taste yummy!

I tried the cup cake the next day, and I guess icing is really not my type of food. I end up eating just the cake and throw the icing away XD

Again! today is Wednesday, another pizza night! because Mr. Hill don't need to go Law School tonite!! I guess that is something worth to celebrate :)

Today is not any typical work day, because after class the Chinese School is having a Halloween Party. Of course as a teacher, I bought some chocolates and candy corns. Those 2 bags of sweets have been sitting at my apartment's door way for the past week, everytime I walk by I always feel the urge to open it and think "maybe if I take just one, no one will notice??" hehe

Well, as always, my lovely husband then said to me "but they will notice the bag is open!!!" =.= yeah yeah yeah, so we didn't touch the sweets at all. I am not really into those things but I am just curious the taste of it especially there's 130 pieces in 1 bag.....hmmm so many choices

Anyways, the first 2 hours in school just normal teaching and learning. But for sure you can tell the kids are all a little jumpy and hyper today. Of course, it is Halloween Party....and lots of candies :P Some of them couldn't even wait till 3:30pm and already asked me like 10times. "Mrs. Eva, is the party start at 3:30?" haha , kids...

At the party we had the traditional costume contest. Nice principle even divided the kids by the
classes so 3 of the students from each class level can win the price. As for myself, I didn't do much, I just did some special make-up then put the 2 wings i got form Taiwan last year and clip them on the top of my head. With the cloth I had on today my husband called me "Pocahontas with wings on her head" =.=

Anyways, I guess it is Photo times! well, some of them are blurry, because I haven't get my new camera yet, so bare with me on my shaky cell phone.

King Crabs

I can't believe I have lived in Vancouver for over 10years and I have never eat King Crab. Momo said I must be crazy....hmm Yeah, I don't know why I never tried when I was there. Now that I moved to states and last nite finally I got my 1st taste of King Crabs :)

My dear husband Mr. Hill knew I have been wanting to try it for so long and yesterday he picked some up on his way home from Publix. I was so happy that he actually remembered :) I have to say it again , that I really like the crabs we ate last nite. He learned from Kim that Publix actually cook and even season it for all their customers for free. (However ours was a little too much salt I would say...)

It is good to have Publix do all the works for us, but I think if there's next time I would like to steam/boil and season the crabs myself. Because last nite when we actually get to eat the crabs they went cold really quickly due to the driving from the market to our apartment...

We had some corn on the cob and some Taiwanese popcorn chicken as well. It was a great night. Thanks Mr. Hill again :)

What should we try next time? :P

改良多次後的招牌鹹酥雞

油炸的食物人人都愛吃我跟我老公也不例外

別看他是個老外他可是台灣口味的鹽酥雞愛不釋口

所以老婆我就開始上網找食譜

在實驗了多次以後發現自己適合的口味

剛好今天某某也問了我食譜我看我就放上網跟大家分享一下吧

材料:

雞胸肉兩塊 (我自己是用去皮去骨的雞胸肉因為老公比較喜歡吃白肉的部分也有其他食譜用腿肉或者其他帶骨頭的胸肉)
地瓜粉 (下鍋炸之前沾的)
九層塔 (看個人我是沒有放因為老公不愛)
花生油 (因為炸起來比較香其他的油也是可以)

調味料:

鹽巴 (兩個雞胸的話只需要1/4大匙)
白砂糖 (兩大匙)
米酒 (兩大匙可是如果米酒裡已經有鹽的話一開始的鹽可以少放一點才不會太鹹 )
醬油 (生抽的話兩大匙就夠了老抽的話可以放到三大匙)
鹽酥雞用的五香粉 (一大匙)
白胡椒 (炸好之後才灑上的所以適量就夠了)

做法很簡單、把雞胸肉洗乾淨擦乾切成一口左右的小塊然後加入條味料攪拌均勻

然後放入冰箱讓雞胸肉入味 (我通常放一個小時左右) 有看過網路的食譜寫醃個十分鐘

可是我覺得不夠味所以我通常都放久一點

要注意的是放越久會越鹹所以最好是要炸的當天再醃 (我自己受過教訓所以特別記住這一點哈哈)

下鍋前一個一個雞肉分開沾上地瓜粉然後熱油到中高油溫然後再放下去炸 (油太熱的話一下就會燒焦掉了)

下鍋炸到金黃色就可以起鍋通常只要幾分鐘如果不會看金黃色的話也不用擔心

因為剛下鍋的雞肉會沉澱所以等到浮起來的時候就大概是好了(如果喜歡九層塔的可以在雞肉起鍋前十秒加入新纖九層塔然後全部一起起鍋這樣就OK)

最後就是灑上一點胡椒粉

PS 剛剛又炸了第二炸因為幫老公準備明天的午餐炸到最後我也肚子餓了看來又要再炸第三炸來填飽我的肚子

These few days

These couple of days for some reason my body decided to rejected alot of thing I ate. But since I don't really want to make others puke, I guess I will skip some "detailed" information XD

Anyways, one of the issue was when I lay down at night on my bed my lower abdomen will start to hurts. My genius hubby then said "go pee on the stick, so at least we can rule out one thing" and of course I did go pee on the stick and nothing there. Yeah, no baby yet. sorry for all of you think that way :P

Another thing is I have the urge to puke ....it happened yesterday and last night. Out of blue I just feel like I was about to puke. Again my lovely husband said "make sure you turn away to the other direction k?" hahahahaha he is funny.

Yeah, that's pretty much about it. Something is going on with my body because I didn't eat anything weird or abnormal. However, I think it could be since we starting to let nature decide when to give us a baby so my body is entering the state of "fake pregnancy" it is possible that I am wrong but who knows what is right ? Or I should not to put too much hope about this baby thing maybe my body will forget about it and act more normal after all?

Yummo

Yesterday Mr. Hill and I went to buy some candies for my school's Halloween party. Out of no where Mr. Hill asked if I feel like some ice-cream~ and I remembered I've seen it on TV about the flavor "cookies and cream".

Tada~~~~ Hagen-dazs, my favorite brand! and they DO have cookies & cream!!!! it taste really good, I like it. Not too sweet and the cookies inside are very soft and not over powering the creamy part. Don't think it will be a problem for me to ate the whole pint myself. I also like their strawberry, chocolate, and coffee.

I like Hagen-dazs not because they are expensive :P I like it because their ice-cream always not too sweet for me. I cant take too sweet things, always make me want to puke :X I remember I tried their pistachio flavor before, which was also good :)

I am not a really dessert person, I don't like pies (except good apple pies and White Spot's blueberry pies, which they only offer during the season) I don't like cakes (except Cheese Cake). I don't like cookies, and I normally don't eat alot of candies. That leaves nothing else for sweet dessert but ice-cream only.

Ah, almost forgot my mother in law's brownies from the box. That's some new dessert I've add to my dessert list. Before I tried her brownies I don't recall I ever like brownies before. I think that is because they are again, "too sweet" for me :P But somehow my mother in law's is never too sweet, always perfect amount of sugar.

ah~ I am a weirdo, and I believe Mr. Hill will agree with me for sure~

知我者某某 Momo I love you!

I don't remember since when I fall in love with this Robot Cat-Doraemon, but today Momo showed me a website and also an online store for "everything Doraemon" it's called "Doraemon Bell" I was screaming my heart out and jumping so high in my apartment.

God I would never imaging any company will even create something like this, a Doraemon Digital Camera but $350 just to preorder it really seems a bit too much. Because the spec of this particular camera is not as good I think it would be and like Momo said, EX-Z20 is not a really new version. (the spec description are all in JP, so only for those who can understand JP). To be honest I feel this digital camera is designed more for collection than everyday use. Even if I get one I don't think I will use it alot. But I still love you, Momo for showing me the product.

Maybe when I actually win the lottery I will buy one...but then I probably won't have the Camera strip because it only comes with pre order customer.

The end product

Tada~ That's the end product of my dinner that I made today. Yummy, at least to me :P Not fancy, but I like the homemade feeling. I also made cheese sauce instead of gravy, steam vegi for side dishes. Living in the states really made me miss all the food in Vancouver. I miss the fried chicken with rice and vegi at the restaurant I used to work for. I miss all the HK style food, dim-sum, No 9 restaurant.. Kintaro...and other JP restaurants I have been to. I don't get to eat out alot ever since I moved to FL, because my husband and I both think eating home is more healthy and money saving....

But I have no idea why I keep gaining weight even I eat my own cooking =.=

Glad my hubby doesn't really care what type of food I cook. (I don't know I should be happy or not...)

Can't wait my trip to Taiwan in Dec, then I will have more chance to try more yummy food...and maybe taste more of my mom's cooking.

今天不是周末,照理來說應該是煮中餐

可是早上起床之後想到我之前拿出來解凍的牛絞肉就想說乾脆晚上來做漢堡好了

冰箱繼續東翻西找只有找到紅蘿蔔跟白椰菜還沒去市場補貨也只好將就一下了

繼續翻箱倒櫃找出了全部的材料就開始準備啦

牛絞肉

雞蛋

紅蘿蔔

白椰菜

洋蔥

日本的パン粉

鹽跟胡椒

做法很簡單就是全部放進去混合洋蔥切丁放入適當的鹽和胡椒擺入冰箱入味一下

成品要等晚一點才POST上來

不知道是不是受了媽媽的影響我其實很喜歡煮東西的

也許味道不是頂級可是我覺得有時候其實自己煮的還不錯

今年感恩節有想說自己來烤個火雞吧

目前暫定計畫是烤火雞耶誕節說不定來烤火腿哈哈

我有點HOOK UP 烤食物去年聖誕節跟小布兩個人考了兩隻雞腿來吃味道還真的不錯

調味也沒有粉複雜上次婆婆來我家我也考了PORK CHOP還記的她吃得津津有味一直誇獎

尤其是我的GRAVY怎樣的好吃好吃

我很想跟她說我的GRAVY BASE就是考PORK CHOP滴下的豬油

還好沒說不然我看她也吃不下去了 :P

偶爾我也會發明一些新的東西來試吃的當然就是小布了

看他到目前為止都活的健健康康的也讓我對我的料理越來越有信心

希望我可以成為一個很會煮東西的媽媽就像我的媽媽一樣

還記得小時候並不覺得媽媽煮的有多好吃

長大了才覺得其實那個時候的我有多幸福

如果現在可以吃到媽媽的口味我想那會是最快樂的一件事吧

Happy Birthday Dorayaki 銅鑼燒生日快樂

我的小公主今天生日啦
Ｈａｐｐｙ　Ｂ－ｄａｙ！and wow...she is 6yr old now

Time fly......I still remember the 1st day I brought her home, she was only 2.5month old. So tiny itty-bitty and now BAM! she is 6yr old already....

Sometimes I wish I can turn the clock around and make her stay at 2.5month old forever, eventho that I will need to clean her pee/poo forever, but I just like how small she was. She was so cuddly, and clingy everyday that made me love her so much :) . But don't take me wrong, she is still the same, just a little bigger in size :P

I remembered when I first met her, she was still in the pet shop with her 5 other sisters/brothers but she somehow ditched them all and came to play with me. That was when I felt the connection, after that I went back and visited her two more times before I finally decided to make her my little princess forever :D

For so many times my husband said I made her the way she is now. hehehe Sure, and I admit it that I probably treat her too well and made her think she really is a human baby after all. She sleeps on a pillow, she likes to cuddle and I guess she is pretty much a spoiled little girl.

I always ask my hubby, "do u think she really loves me?" and my hubby will say "of course she does, coz u love her so much"

Yes, i do love u a lot, 銅銅(tonton) and I hope u will stay healthy and happy forever.

Mommy will be here to protect u and spoil u for as much as I can XD

Midterm Day

Today is Midterm for my level 2 class. Only 8 kids showed up, I know 1 is away for this week so I have no idea why Mickey not showing up today. Last week her mom said they were going to celebrate Mickey's grandmother's b-day....but this week is midterm I was upset that she actually choose to miss it :(

The test is pretty easy for them and I asked some of them after the test how do they feel about their 1st midterm. The result was good, coz they liked it. So I think for finals i can put more things in it and make it a little more challenge for them.

I got too tired to even mark the test after work today.....somehow I always spend alot of energy when teaching....no idea why ^^; I think I will mark the test tomo since I have the whole week to mark 8 tests :P

Few more weeks away then it will be Halloween...school is holding a party...but I don't think I will wear any costume to school next Sunday :P

Other than all of the above, I still need to figure out what my class are going to perform for the upcoming Chinese New Year Celebration Party. I have no idea why we have to start prepare months ahead....I just think it is way too early to even make decisions like that. but whatever, principle is the head of school...if that's what her wants to do, I'll just try and help =..=

English?? Chinese??

Showed my hubby the new blog.

then questions start to pop up, which language should I use for this blog.

I guess I will try use both :P even my English has not improve at all.....

people would think since I married a white guy and we speak English everyday my English should somehow become better. WRONG!!!

I created my own language, "Evalish".
According to my hubby, my grammar is terrible, and not even to mention my spelling
hehehe I am not proud of that, but somehow, he has no problem understand me at all. I even create new vocabulary XD love you Bibi!

He is my dictionary, my spell check...my bibliography
Everything if i have a question, he will try his best to find me the answer
so...nice...
He might not be the best boyfriend but I know he is the best husband!!!

PS. Bibi, I am really throwing away those undershirt with holes =.= and I hope u don't have to go to work on Monday naked. XD

我家樓上

我家樓上好不容易搬走了以為終於可以安靜睡覺了
沒想到今天早上才剛過七點就聽到蹦蹦蹦蹦蹦蹦蹦蹦蹦蹦蹦蹦
是怎樣....很吵ㄟ
本來想多睡一點都不行
最後使出絕招. 跟老公告狀嘿嘿
老公最好了馬上打電話到櫃台果然不出所料不到十分鐘就沒了那吵人的蹦蹦蹦蹦蹦蹦
之前樓上住了一家人兩個小孩子每天蹦蹦蹦也是吵到不行
以為這一次運氣會好一點看來也是沒有
新搬來了兩個年輕人也沒有好到哪裡去
可是也沒辦法租約已經簽了一年要搬也要等到明年

吼真的討厭住公寓早知道當初就選最高層現在就不用每天被樓上吵到醒
